History

The Indianapolis Latvian School was established in 1951. For the first few years, the school was located in a Lutheran church, but later, in 1967, the school moved to the newly built Latvian Community Centre.

School year 2024/2025

The new school year started on Sunday 22 September. Students, parents, grandparents, friends and supporters come together for a fun-filled children’s party. The total number of students this year is 13. We have also started a baby class with 3 children attending with their parents. There are 3 children in the Preparation Class. Primary classes; 1, 3, 6, 8 a total of 7 pupils.
Classes are held on Sundays from 12:00 – 15:00. Latvian Community Centre, 1008 W. 64th St. Indianapolis.
We study Latvian language/grammar, literature, history, as well as art, singing, folk dancing and kokle playing.
